Services include assessment, diagnosis and ongoing treatment.  I work with Individuals, Couples, and Families.

I am a Certified Therapist in EMDR.  I specialize in this unique therapy and have overwhelming positive results with my clients.  I have witnessed this treatment transform clients within a much shorter time than other traditional types of therapy.  As with any therapy all clients are different and their results vary

 

EMDR

Or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy is an 8 phase treatment approach developed by Francine Shapiro, Ph.D.  This form of therapy is unique in the way that it works with past traumatic memories.   There are many people who have struggled with trauma in their lives and they have been unsuccessful in finding a treatment model which can rid them of their painful past.  EMDR therapy is a powerful treatment approach which integrates painful memories with adaptive present day knowledge resulting in the memories being processed.  Once processed the disturbing memories appear to lose their sting and then fade away.  Generally, the client begins to experience immediate relief and their perceptions of things begin to change.   They often report feeling less burdened and being “lighter”.  When this happens the client feels free to start living their life without the influence of past traumas that have haunted them.  EMDR therapy is now accepted as a standard treatment model for the Veterans Administration.
